Has there ever been a word more ordinary in sound but absurd in appearance than “knowledgeable”?

I suppose there are some surnames which have big bits of their written forms entirely unpronounced. Place names, too.

Cholmondeley is pronounced Chumley.

Dalziel is pronounced dee-ELL.

Featherstonehaugh is pronounced Fan-Shaw.

Woolfardisworthy is pronounced Wulzry…

Yet somehow none of them is quite the random splatter of letters that makes up “knowledgeable”.
