My guitar is dying.

The piece of plastic that holds the output jack in place has long been broken, the jack itself hanging on by its electrical connections. It’s more or less pulled itself apart by now. Just about works if you jiggle it just right and don’t move.

A simple fix, of course, if I had a soldering iron. But I don’t. Plus, to really fix it, I’d need a new jack-plate from Allparts or Stew-Mac or someone. Bit of a pain.

Since I’m interested in electronics, I can well imagine tinkering with guitars in the future, but until then, I’d rather forego buying bits and pieces and just get one of these:

It’s a “Lag Jet”. It’s French. I have no idea if something was lost in translation or what: why Lag Jet of all things?

Still, it has all the things I want, and it looks cool. Waltons have some, although they’re marked as running out of stock, unlikely to be replaced. I should get one soon, if I can get €350 together.
